For this week, the word of the week is:

あめ
(ame)

Rain

The Kun-Yomi of 雨 is あめ (ame) andあま (ama). While the On-Yomi is う (u).

In most Kanji books, On-Yomi reading is written in Katakana to distinguish the reading of each Kanji. But I only input the Hiragana character for easier reading.

おおあめ (O o a me) (大雨) Heavy rain	ごうう (Go u u) (豪雨) Heavy rain	ながあめ (Na ga a me) (長雨) Long rain

あめがだいすきです。

(雨が大好きです。)
(Ame ga daisuki desu.)
I love rain.

７がつはうりょうがおおいです。
(７月は雨量うが多いです。)
(7gatsu ha uryou ga ooi desu.)
There is a lot of rainfall in July.
